Itinerary

  • Arrival in Chamonix, France

    Welcome to Chamonix! After your flight into Geneva, you’ll be greeted with warm smiles as you embark on a seamless journey to this stunning alpine town. Enjoy the scenic drive through picturesque landscapes, where the majestic Mont Blanc will soon come into view. Get ready to explore breathtaking views, charming streets, and thrilling adventures that await you in the heart of the French Alps!

    Spend the evening, settling into your hotel, where you can unwind and prepare for the adventures ahead.

  • Chamonix

    Spend the day soaking in the stunning views of the Alps and indulge in some delicious local cuisine. Whether you choose to explore the charming streets of Chamonix or embark on an icy adventure up to Mer de Glace, today is all about acclimating and gearing up for the exciting days ahead. Enjoy every moment!

    We will also have a short information meeting before a group dinner, hosted at a local restaurant.

  • Les Houches to Les Contamines

    After breakfast at the hotel, we will start our day with a short bus ride to the start of the Tour du Mont Blanc.

    The hike from Les Houches to Les Contamines is a breathtaking journey through the French Alps. The day begins with a steep climb out of the Chamonix Valley. The trail winds through lush pine forests and vibrant wildflower meadows.

    After we pass Bellevue, we will continue to the Tricot pass, which will offer us an incredible view of the Bionassay Glacier. After reaching the pass, we will descend steeply to the valley where we can take a break for food and drinks at Refuge de Miage, where you must try a slice of their blueberry pie! Following lunch, we will continue to our stopping point in Les Contamines.

  • Les Contamines to Les Chapieux

    We will start our day on a gently rolling riverside trail which will lead us to Notra Dame de la Gorge. After passing the church, our route begins a steep ascent to Col du Bonhomme which sits at nearly 7,000 feet. We will continue to climb to reach our second col, Col de la Croix du Bonhomme, which sits at 7,330 feet. After the second col, we will have a gentle descent to our lunch location, Refuge de la Croix du Bonhomme. Following lunch you will continue your descent into Les Chapieux, our stopping point for this day.

  • Les Chapieux to Courmayeur

    We will begin our day with a short bus ride from our hotel to Ville des Glaciers. From our stop, we will climb to Col de la Seigne, 7550 feet, which is the French/Italian border. After crossing into Italy, we will begin a descent to Rifugio Elisabetta where we can have lunch. The route is fairly flat for a bit until we begin our final climb of the day which will lead us to Rifugio Maison Vielle, where you can have a snack and drink with a gorgeous view of the Courmayeur valley. After this is a very steep descent into Courmayeur, our stopping point for the day.

  • Courmayeur

    Sleep in and then spend some quality time exploring the charming town of Courmayeur, where breathtaking views and delightful shops await you.

  • Courmayeur to La Fouly

    The route begins in the middle of Courmayeur and starts off with a very steep climb up to Rifugio Bertone. The path continues to undulate until you descend to reach Rifugio Walter Bonatti. Along the way you will have great views of the Mont Blanc massif. After another short bit of flat trail, you will make a steep descent to Chalet Val Ferret where you can have a delicious lunch. You will continue with a steep climb up to Rifugio Elena and continue the climb to the Grand Col Ferret, 7600 feet. Grand Col Ferret marks the Italian/Swiss border. After crossing into Switzerland, you will have a gradual descent all the way to La Fouly, our stopping point of the day.

  • La Fouly to Trient

    The day begins with a very gentle valley traverse to Champex Lac. Here, the serene alpine lake reflects the surrounding peaks, inviting you to pause and soak in the beauty. Several spots offer delightful options for food, whether you crave a hearty meal or a sweet treat to fuel your journey.

    After leaving the tranquil shores of Champex, we will continue our adventure towards Col de Forclaz, taking the scenic route through Fenetre d’Arpette. This trail showcases the breathtaking landscapes that define this region, provided the weather cooperates.

    Once we conquer the col, we’ll descend into the charming town of Trient. With its warm hospitality and picturesque views, Trient will be the perfect resting point to reflect on a day filled with natural wonders and serene moments. Prepare to unwind and recharge for the adventures that await!

  • Trient to Chamonix

    We will begin our day with a climb to Col de Balme, where we will cross the Swiss/French border. After the border crossing, you will mostly descend to Tre-le-champ. Here you can get a snack before heading up to Refuge la Flegere. After reaching Refuge la Flegere, you will descend to the Chamonix valley, taking the final steps on your tour.

  • Chamonix to GVA

    Sadly, this is where our adventure together ends. Whether you take the train to your next adventure, or the shuttle back to Geneva, we wish you safe travels!
